Making Home

The past two weeks have been sweet! It’s fun to see the students begin to really settle into this place and the rhythms of community at CCSP. Of course, it’s not always easy to learn how to live with others so I don’t mean to oversimplify. Overall, we’re well on our way to becoming a whanau (family) which I love to witness happening.

The students have had one week of Sustainable Community Development last week (they’ll have three weeks in total). This past week was split between Te Reo Maori and reading ahead for other courses. I wasn’t the TA for Te Reo this past week, so I was mainly in the kitchen, office, and garden. We had 3 or 4 days of rain, though nothing like what the North Island has been receiving from Cyclone Gabrielle. I’d appreciate your prayers and support for the people, creatures, and land up there!

We head out for Wellington (our weeklong Sustainable Community Development field trip) in a few hours so I have to get going. Please enjoy this random collection of photos from the last two weeks.
