Preparing

Hello! It’s Sunday for me (a low/no tech day) so I will keep it brief. This week has been full of prep for the students who arrive on Thursday (the 8th)! Thankfully the weather has been gorgeous and warm, which allowed me to get a lot of gardening in. I made a good dent in all the weeding, trimming, mulching, filling planters, starting seeds, and spreading gravel that was on the list.

Gorgeous sky and mountains one evening this week

The list of what didn’t get done (student room assignments, kitchen organization, reading week texts compiled, etc.) is also quite long, but all is well. I’ve had my moments of stress and overwhelm but they are balanced with the joy of using my body to bring beauty to our garden and our home.

I’m also eagerly anticipating meeting the new students. The seem lovely from what I’ve heard so far. It’s always a thrill to get to share this place and community with new friends. It inspires me! Their excitement will also help fuel me through the busyness of the week ahead.

Making do with what we have on hand for seed-starting

Let’s leave it at that for now. I will update you all next week once we have settled the students in. I appreciate the prayers and good wishes you can spare for their safe arrival. In the meantime, I’m going to bring our trays of freshly planted seeds inside before the winds shift to the southwest tonight. It’s going to be cold in the morning!
